McLaren 12C GT Can Am Limited Edition
It was a great weekend for the English in Texas, where Lewis Hamilton took the win at the first ever Formula 1 race at Austin.
The autotak McLaren had preceded reported that the 12C GT Can-Am Edition in production will take. Of the car last summer during the Pebble Beach Concours dElegance and design study was presented, only 30 copies were built.
McLaren calls the 12C GT - the name MP4 lapsed - Can-Am "ultimate track car. It is based on the GT3 racing car but does not meet the specific requirements of the GT3 regulations.
Thus, the 3.8-liter twin turbo V8 now unrestricted and an optimized are cooling system so that power increased to 630 hp, 130 hp more than the GT3 version and 30 hp more than the street-12C.

Rear spoiler
you recognize the Can-Am at the omissible rear spoiler, made of carbon fiber, which provides 30 percent more down force. Carbon fiber is also seen in other parts of the body. Lightweight wheels with Pirelli rubber around it complete the picture.
Obviously the race car with a roll cage, racing tubs, and a multifunctional -- racing wheel that resembles a Formula 1 steering wheel. To make the driver more comfortable, the 12C is equipped with a specially designed air conditioning system for racing cars.
Founder
The 12C GT Can-Am Edition according to its creators, a tribute to founder / driver Bruce McLaren and Denny Hulme driver, who in the late sixties were successful in the American Can-Am (short for Canadian American) series.
In such a car crashed Bruce McLaren in 1970 at Goodwood. Hulme died in 1992 at the consequences of a heart attack he received in a BMW M3 during a race in the Australian Bathurst.
The 12C GT Can-Am Edition is built as said in an edition of 30 pieces. In March, production begins in Woking.
